DIY Watercolor Verse Art- MOPS craft
I hope that you are all doing well! Today I am here to share a simple DIY project that would look great in your home or office and serve as daily inspiration.
It is quick and easy and could even be done with your kiddos! We did this watercolor verse art at my MOPS group and then I came home and did it again with my almost two year old son! He loved it. Here is his creation:
Here’s what you’ll need to do this project:
-white cardstock paper
-computer and printer
-watercolors and paint brush
That’s it! I know there are probably more professional ways to do something like this, but if you are on a budget and don’t want to have to go out and buy a bunch of materials I think this method works great.
To start, I typed up the verse I wanted in Word using a fun font and printed it out. The one I chose is our theme verse for MOPS this year and it really speaks to me in this season of life I am in. Then I decided which colors I wanted to use and I put lots of water in those colors of paint. I did circular strokes and tried to make the edges a bit rough and organic. I blended the colors a bit as well. The key to getting the soft look is to use lots of water. If you start and the color is really dark don’t worry! Just add more water to the paper and spread the color around. There are so many ways to do this. Sky’s the limit so have fun with it!
If you do this project I’d love to see yours! Send me an email with your painting. If you are from MOPS and looking for other craft ideas to do at your meeting type in MOPS in the search area on the right sidebar.
Hope you have a great day!
