Heart Canvas Tote- MOPS Craft
I am here today sharing another MOPS craft that we did today at our meeting. If you are from MOPS welcome and hopefully this post will help you if you were not able to finish or maybe you are just looking for a fun and inexpensive craft to try! Welcome! These canvas totes are really fun to make and serve a great purpose in the end.
I am not giving a tutorial here because you can get it from the originator Clumsy Crafter on her site. I will give some tips for doing this with a big group. Below is what you will need to do this project.
The challenge for coming up with MOPS crafts is staying within the budget and time constraints while still finding something that people will enjoy doing and go home with something that they can use. I think this craft accomplishes all those things! I found canvas totes for super cheap from The Deal Rack. If you buy in bulk you can get some good deals! The fabric paints are from JoAnn’s. I stuck with pink, red, purple and white and bought a couple for each table. Using coupons or getting them when they are on sale helped keep my cost down. I got boxes of pencils from the 99 cent store. The hearts can be cut from any cardboard. The thinner the cardboard the easier it is to cut. I found that Kleenex boxes and file folders worked well for this.
I love seeing everyone’s unique take on each craft we do. Here are some of the ladies’ tote bags. They turned out so great!!
This would be so fun to do with a bunch of friends for a girls craft night, don’t you think? One mom even had the idea to have this as a craft at her daughter’s birthday party! What a great idea!!
Hope you have a great Wednesday!
