5 Fun and Free Toddler Activities

Hi Everyone!

Today I am linking up with The Good Life, A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, and Hello! Happiness for their five on Friday Link Up to share 5 fun and free activities you can do with your toddler.  My little one and a half year old is always on the go and I’m constantly trying to come up with new things we can do together that hold his interest and don’t cost a lot of money.

1.  Sticker Fun.  I was a teacher before I became a stay at home mom and still have a lot of my teaching stuff.  I decided to bust out some construction paper and stickers and let my little guy have some fun being creative.  It keeps him pretty busy!

2.  Paint the Sidewalk!  We are already experiencing warm weather here so we like to get outside as much as possible.  I got out a plastic bowl, filled it with water and got a couple foam paint brushes and we painted the sidewalk!  It was a lot of fun for both of us!

3.  Water the Yard.  My little man loves to help me water the plants.  It usually ends up with him running in the water and getting soaked.  I’m okay with that…whatever keeps him happy and busy. 😉

4.  Dig in the Dirt.  I love to garden so we are out in the backyard A LOT.  I got my son some of his own gardening tools so he feels like he can help too.  He likes to dig in the dirt next to me.  Sometimes we will also bring out his trucks and cars to play with in the dirt.

5.  Water Toys!  Another great activity that has kept my guy very interested is filling a bucket with a couple inches of water and putting a bunch of toys in for him to play with.  Some examples of things I I put in are plastic cups, dinosaurs, balls, cars. etc.  Of course, you always have to keep a careful eye on the little ones because kids can drown in just a couple inches of water.
